At Leave Them Kids Alone, our mission is to create a safer digital world for children by addressing potential harm at its root. We intervene early, before abuse happens, by offering support to individuals at risk of harmful behavior and by educating families on how to recognize online dangers.Â
We aim to reduce harm through compassion, awareness, and proactive action.Â
Our work is grounded in the belief that prevention is not only possible but essential to protecting children and strengthening communities.Â
We are a Long Island–based grassroots initiative made up of advocates, educators, and community members deeply committed to child safety. Our work blends intervention strategies with family-focused education to offer a holistic approach to online safety. We understand that digital spaces can be complex and sometimes dangerous, and we’re here to navigate that space alongside the people who need support most, whether they’re concerned parents, struggling individuals, or anyone seeking to make the internet a safer place for kids.
We don’t lead with shame, we lead with empathy, guidance, and real solutions that make a difference.
The internet is part of everyday life for kids, and while it offers incredible opportunities, it also comes with risks. Inappropriate adult contact, grooming behaviors, and unsafe digital interactions are very real threats, and far too often, they go unnoticed until it’s too late.
That’s why our work matters.
By stepping in early and building strong communication between families and children, we help prevent harm before it starts. We believe that every child deserves to explore the digital world without fear, and every adult, whether parent, teacher, or community member -deserves the tools to help keep them safe.Â
When we intervene with compassion and raise awareness, we don’t just protect children, we empower entire communities.
We don’t do this for clicks or confrontation We represent the terrified mom who finds inappropriate DMs on her child’s phone.
We don’t do this for views or viral moments - We represent the father who can’t sleep after hearing his daughter describe the “friend” who turned on her.Â
We’re not here for drama or internet fame - We represent the grandparents raising their grandson, shocked to discover the messages he was too afraid to report.Â
We speak for the parent who feels helpless, the child who doesn’t know what’s wrong, and the community that can’t afford to look away.Â
But our work goes even deeper:
We offer resources for predators who want help before they hurt someone.
We educate families on how grooming works, what signs to look for, and how to protect their children online.Â
We empower parents to turn their fear into action.
